So, you're looking for horror movie recommendations?

What do The Besties recommend for movie night? Keep reading to see what Crystal recommends.

Hi! I'm Crystal, one half of The Besties, and lover of all things horror related. When you think about horror movies, do you smile warmly remembering favorite scenes or do you shudder thinking to yourself "never again". If you're the first, welcome! You just made a new best friend.

One of the awesome things about today's society is the ability to find horror movies (or any kind of movie), easily and in mere seconds. As we enter Fall, more and more people look to horror movies to set the spooky mood.

Trick 'r Treat is an anthology horror movie that blew me away upon my first viewing. The individual tales that are interwoven together make for a fantastic start to the spooky season. Sam is one of my favorite characters ever and is the highlight of this movie. For such a little ghoul, Sam carries this movie with ease.

2. Hellraiser (1987)

If you are a regular listener to The House That Screams podcast, this should come as no surprise to you. I absolutely LOVE this movie. Doug Bradley is phenomenal in this film and dives right into the character of "Pinhead". Although, if you read The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker, you'll find out that this is NOT the name of the Lead Cenobite. This movie does have some cheesy '80's gore, but I promise it's worth a view.

I watch this movie at least once a week. Elsa Lanchester is stunning, but there is another. Una O'Connor shines in this movie as Minnie and steals every scene she's in. This movie is beautifully shot and I find something new every time I watch this classic.

Did I surprise you with these movie picks?

Comment below and tell me what your favorite horror movies are. Maybe I've seen them and will share my opinion or maybe it's a new movie for me and we'll cover it on the podcast.
